Grant Recipients 2018

Ramsey Million Partnership are delighted to announce the following groups have been awarded grants to support their work with those living with disabilities. Once again we were overwhelmed by applications totalling over £58,000. Unfortunately we only had £20,000 to distribute so some very difficult decisions had to be made. The Ramsey Million decision process has been deemed fair and robust by Local Trust, who manage the Big Local programme on behalf of Big Lottery, and each application is assessed against an agreed set of criteria.

Congratulations to the following:

  • Young People’s Counselling service
  • Ramsey Rural Museum
  • Gauntlet Auto Project
  • Ramsey Neighbourhoods Trust
  • Ramsey Community Bus Association
  • Ramsey Carers Hub (Carers Trust)
  • Little Miracles (Ramsey)
  • Ramsey and District Day Centre

Grant Recipients 2017

Ramsey Million Big Local is delighted to announce the latest round of grant recipients. Over the last four years Ramsey Million Partnership has allocated over £75,000 of grants to groups working in Ramsey Parish. There are many fantastic, mainly volunteer run, established and new initiatives in our area and Ramsey Million Partnership is proud to be able to support them where possible.

In this round of grants, we wanted to target projects that promote intergenerational activities and those which allow greater access to activities and services. Applicants were asked to consider how their projects/groups enable people of all generations to interact. We were also interested in ideas that address the lack of public transport. This could be by bringing services/activities into the parish or by providing alternatives to existing transport provision.

We were overwhelmed by the response and had over £53,000 of requests for an available grant pot of £15,000.  As in previous years, to ensure consistency and fairness, all applications were judged against an approved scoring system. All grant applications must address at least one of the Big Local outcomes as well responding an issue highlighted by you in our community consultation. Other requirements are that the grant be paid to an organisation – not an individual, quotes are provided and the application clearly outlines how the grant will be used to make a difference to people in Ramsey Parish.

Subject to acceptance the following groups have been allocated a grant:

  • St Thomas a Becket Church
  • 511(Ramsey) Air Cadet Squadron
  • Gauntlet Auto Project
  • Great Fen
  • Community Skills Swap (White House Farm)
  • Nene Valley Gliding Club
  • Ramsey Young Carers (Carers Trust)
  • Ramsey Community Bus Association
  • Fenland Light Railway

We look forward to updating you on the projects as they develop.

Our micro-grant programme is open all year round or until the allocated funds have been used up. This grant pot is for grants up to £100 to support unfunded groups. So far we have allocated micro-grants to:

  • Ramsey Mortuary Chapels
  • Ramsey Camera Club
  • Ramsey Judo Club
  • Ramsey in Bloom
  • Fenland Light Railway
  • Urban Dance Academy
